Sporobolus cryptandrus, commonly known as Fowl Manna Grass, is a native North American grass species that belongs to the Poaceae family.
Native Range:
Sand Dropseed is found throughout Canada and the continental United States, excluding Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. Sporobolus cryptandrus can often be spotted in dry, disturbed sandy areas such as roadsides and along railroads. It can be distinguished by its single-flowered, awnless and hairless spikelets 1.5 to 2.5mm long and the dense tufts of long hair on the sheath tip and back.
