Elymus trachycaulus, commonly known as Fowl Manna Grass, is a native North American grass species that belongs to the Poaceae family. Slender Wheatgrass can be identified by its slender and upright spike with its single spikelets at the nodes. This plant can be found in habitats such as savannas, shorelines, open forests, rocky slopes and outcrops, and prairies. Slender Wheatgrass is often confused with the weed Quackgrass, or Elymus repens.
Native Range:
Fowl Manna Grass is found throughout Canada and the continental United States, excluding some states along the Southeast coast.
