Scirpus cyperinus, commonly known as Wool Grass, is a native North American grass species that belongs to the Cyperaceae family. This wetland plant can be found commonly among lakes and ponds of Minnesota.

Native Range:

Wool Grass is found predominately in the Midwest and Eastern United States, Canada, and scattered throughout the Western United States.

Fruiting Season: July - September

Preferred Habitat: Full sun. Often found in marshes, wet ditches and fields, and shorelines.
