Oenothera biennis, commonly known as Common Evening Primrose, is a native North American wildflower species that belongs to the Onagraceae family. Evening primrose is a biennial, which means it will grow vegetatively during its first year, and will re-seed before completely its life cycle in the second year. This wildflower produces a soft yellow flower at the tip of its stem between July and October, and can be found growing in mostly sunny areas with dry soil conditions, like roadsides and cliffs.
