Common Name: Showy Mountain-ash

Showy Mountain-ash is a small, ornamental tree growing 10 to 40 feet tall, found in upland woods, forest edges, and rocky slopes of northeastern Minnesota. It produces clusters of white flowers in late spring followed by bright red berries in late summer, which persist into winter and are valuable to birds. This species is prized in landscaping for its attractive compound leaves, seasonal interest, and wildlife value.
