What Is in the Buckthorn Suppression Seed Mix?

Our Buckthorn Suppression Seed Mix contains 12 native grasses and sedges selected to establish living cover after buckthorn and other woody invasive plants are removed.

 

Together, these species help stabilize exposed soil, occupy newly opened ground and create desirable vegetation that can support continued management as the woodland recovers.

 

The grass-and-sedge composition also provides greater flexibility for targeted management of broadleaf regrowth when appropriate for the site.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Promotion applies to qualifying Prairie Restorations woody removal projects booked on or before September 30, 2026.
  • A signed project agreement and any required deposit must be received by the promotional deadline.
  • Project eligibility is determined by Prairie Restorations based on project type, location, treatment area, site conditions and service scope.
  • The promotion includes Buckthorn Suppression Seed Mix only.
  • Seed installation, site preparation, delivery and ongoing management are not included unless specifically listed in the project agreement.
  • Seed quantity will be based on the qualifying treatment area and Prairie Restorations’ recommended seeding rate.
  • The stated retail value of $550 per acre is based on the standard value of the promotional seed mix.
  • The promotion has no cash value and may not be exchanged for another product or service.
  • The promotion may not be combined with other discounts, offers or promotions.
  • Seed mix composition may be adjusted based on site conditions, project needs or seed availability.
  • Continued monitoring and management may be necessary following buckthorn removal.
  • Scheduling is subject to crew availability, weather, site conditions and permitting requirements.
  • Additional restrictions may apply.
