Common Ox-eye
Heliopsis helianthoides
Common Ox-eye (not to be confused by name with the invasive “Ox-eye Daisy” - which has a white bloom rather than yellow) is a robust perennial that grows 2 to 6 feet tall and produces golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers throughout summer. It thrives in prairies, roadsides, and open woodlands, adapting to a variety of soil types. This species is a favorite among pollinators and is often used in native gardens, prairie restorations, and erosion control plantings.
