Common Name: Fireberry Hawthorn

Fireberry Hawthorn is a small tree or large shrub growing up to 18 feet tall. It bears white flowers in spring followed by bright red berries in late summer and fall, which persist into winter and are attractive to birds. Found in upland woods and along riverbanks, it has stout thorns and showy fall color. It’s well-suited for wildlife plantings, shelterbelts, and as a specimen plant in natural landscapes.
