Bromus kalmii
Common Name: Kalm's Brome
Bromus kalmii, or Kalm's Brome, is a cool season perennial grass native to Minnesota. It typically grows 2 to 3 feet tall and produces loose, open panicles of spikelets. This species is variable in habitat – from wet to dry soils and found in prairies, savannas, wet meadows, calcareous fens, sedge meadows, forest openings, sand dunes and more. Kalm's Brome is utilized in prairie restoration projects and home gardens.
