Common Name: Mountain Maple

Mountain Maple is a small, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub or small tree, typically growing 10 to 25 feet tall. It is found in cool, moist forests and conifer swamps, often in shaded conditions. Its red fall foliage and attractive bark make it valuable in naturalized plantings and woodland gardens. It provides important cover for wildlife and is used in forest understory restoration.
