GUIDED BIRD WALK

Spend a morning on our 380 acre farm! dean kleinhans, an experienced interpretive rover from sherburne national wildlife refuge, will guide you through our farm spotting the variety of birds singing, nesting and feeding on our native landscape.

FAMILY FUN DAY – AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES

Learn about amphibians and reptiles from representatives of the mn herpetological society. a formal presentation will begin at 930 and afterwards you will be able to interact with live animals and the retail staff will help you create a free kids craft to take home!!

Join the retail staff at the native plant center for some fun in decorating a beautiful balsam wreath or door swag to enhance your home for the winter season! greenery, pinecones, bows, and a selection of other natural decorations collected from the farm will be included. additional items will be available for purchase to further enhance your wreath! coffee, food samples, and other light refreshments are also included!

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, RECOVER (Part of the Summer Lecture Series lead by Friends of Scandia Parks & Trails)

Hear about the four r’s and what we can do to reduce waste and recycle more with dan schoepke who has been with washington county since 1990 and works with schools, cities, townships, and community groups on waste education projects as well as implementing recycling best practices. Learn the ins and outs of recycling, and see some of the new products made from our recyclables. Get your questions answered about which items are recyclable and which are not
