2008 Events at Prairie Restorations, Inc.

Spring Woodland Wildflower Hikes
May 4th and May 10th 2008 9:00 a.m. at the Princeton Store
Take a guided hike through Pioneer Park in Princeton and discover the beauty of spring ephemeral wildflowers.  We will be looking for Trout lily, Nodding trillium, Spring beauty and more.  Learn about these amazing wildflowers and about other plants that grow in the park.  We will also look at how native plants can be used to help improve water quality.  Guided by PRI staff, dress for spring weather.  Limit 15 people per hike.  Cost is $5.00 per person ages 14 and under free.  To register please call 763-631-9458,  e-mail; retail@prairieresto.com. 

Raingarden workshop
May 24th, 2008 10:00 a.m. at the Scandia store
This will be a free two hour workshop presented by Rusty Schmidt, co-author of "The Blue Thumb Guide to Raingardens".  It will cover everything you need to know about creating a raingarden.

Prairie Day
July 12th, 2008 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Princeton Farm
Prairie Restorations, Inc. will be hosting Prairie Day at our 380 acre farm in Princeton.  It should be a fun and educational day for everyone.  We will have hayrides to enjoy the beauty of our restored and remnant prairies, woodlands and wetlands.  PRI staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.  We will also have plant and bird walks, music, crafts and fun activities for kids of all ages.  We are working at making this a memorable day.  Please check back for updates as we get more activities and events lined up.



Scandia is located 10 miles east of Forest Lake on Highway 97, or 15 miles north of Stillwater, just west of Highway 95. Our Two Oaks site is at 21120 Ozark Court North in the Hawkinson Business Park on the east edge of Scandia. Phone 651.433.1437.
