Shady Package

While few of the wooded areas that remain provide us with the shady, calm conditions of true forest habitats many older neighborhoods are essentially canopied by trees. If you are lucky enough to live in one of these older neighborhoods with mature trees, you often battle with what to grow underneath those towering giants. Why fight it? Embrace the shade with native plants that have evolved to grow in those conditions!

With Everyone Doing Their Part, We Can All Make a Difference!

The "Sowing it Back Together" Shady Kit includes wildflower and even grass species that are best suited to areas that receive little to no sun during the day and occur in moist, sandy to loamy, well-drained soils. These shady species, once established, are well adapted to these conditions because they are woodland species! An added benefit of these plants is the soil stability provided to your hilly sites that few turf grass and cultivated perennial species can accomplish.

This kit is based on 100 sq. ft. of area. If the space you are dedicating to "Sowing it Back Together" exceeds 100 sq. ft. you may need a combination of packages. Our educated retail employees can assist you to make the best and most successful choices for your site. Remember, no site is too large for "Sowing it Back Together", so be sure to inquire on how we can assist you on projects larger than 1000 sq. ft.
