GOING WILD SINCE 1977! Prairie Restorations, Inc. (PRI) was founded in 1977, one of the first companies, nationally, devoted exclusively to designing, restoring and managing native prairie plant communities. In three decades we’ve grown from three employees in a single location to a full-time staff of 45 in six locations throughout Minnesota. While our mission has not changed, our scope has. Not just about prairies anymore, we’ve expanded our expertise and our services. Ask us about restoring wetland, woodland and shoreline plant communities.
Our Mission: “to produce and provide the highest quality, most ecologically appropriate products and services possible to restore and manage native plant communities.”
By sticking to a goal of bringing people together with the land and providing the highest quality products and services, PRI is the region’s leader in the growing business of native plant community restoration—the first, the biggest, the best! “Going Wild” is a good idea for many reasons—some obvious and practical, others more subtle and big picture. Thousands of residential, corporate and public sector customers are working with PRI to restore native plant communities because of: - Ecological soundness---enhancement of existing resources, such as soil rehabilitation, water retention and wildlife habitat improvement.
- Beauty---ever-changing environments of color, light, texture, sound and motion.
- Cost Savings---less expensive to install and maintain than horticultural landscapes.
- Environmental Benefits---native vegetation “locks up” carbon which helps combat global warming. Also, diverse prairie vegetation is being strongly considered as the next “biofuel” source for producing electricity and ethanol.
We are devoted to protecting and maintaining healthy landscapes where they exist and restoring them where they have been destroyed or disturbed. Our staff has extensive experience and knowledge. We understand native plants and the restoration process.
WE STAKE OUR REPUTATION ON THE SUCCESS OF EACH AND EVERY PROJECT!
